Dear GB readers: Should I sell my baby?

From a female GB reader
I am a 27 year old woman. I have been married to my husband for 2 years now and we are expecting a baby. At first, he was very happy about. Now that I am 6 months gone, he tells me that his boss, who has been married for 7 years with no child wants our baby. He said he will give us 10 million for the baby. The offer is very tempting as my husband and I are not very well to do. The money will change our lives. I know I can always give birth to another one.I really do not want to "sell" my baby, but my husband really needs the money. What should I do?

I guess this is romantic and many ladies will love it. But the guy get liver sha, to do this kind thing on air where a lot of people are busy praying that their plane should not get missing or anything like that.

The young man was given a different seat from his fiancée on the trip but that still did not stop him as he left his seat and walk down to hers, brought out a ring and, as usual, the girl said YES! See more pix below...

N/Delta youths tell Jonathan to sack Alison-Madueke, Moro in 14 days

President Goodluck Jonathan has been given a 14-day ultimatum by the Niger Delta youths to sack embattled Minister of Petroleum, Mrs Diezani Alison-Madueke and the Minister of Interior Affairs, Mr Abba Moro or be ready for a mother-of-all-protest in Abuja.

The protesting youths, under the aegis of Niger Delta People’s Salvation Front (NDPSF) took to the streets, in Effurun Delta state in a demonstration which was led by spokesman for ex-militant, Alhaji Asari Dokubo, Comrade Rex Anighoro.

Anighoro said Moro has proved he has no regard for the life of the Nigerian youth with what happened during the immigration tests.

"It is a shame a nation of Nigeria’s status can’t carry out a recruitment exercise without wasting lives. It is a shame that the minister had to use stadia for such an exercise. Nigeria has betrayed its youths who shunned criminality, went to university only to come back and there are no jobs. We have concluded that Abba Moro must go.

"The minister of petroleum is absolutely corrupt, spending so much as N10 billion on chartered jets, while our mothers in the villages are unable to afford three square meals. Diezani must go. NDPSF in collaboration with youths from all parts of Delta have come to demand that these ministers should resign their appointments or be sacked by the president," he said.

According to Anigoro, if President Jonathan fails to sack both ministers within the 14 days, the Saturday protest would shift to Abuja.

A short history of Boko Haram

A short history of Boko HaramYesterday, members of the Boko Haram movement attacked a DSS detention facility close to the seat of power in Abuja. Who is Boko Haram, and how did they come to be?

Nigeria has a long history of communal conflicts, many of which were only suppressed under military rule. Despite the heavy handed tactics of the dictators, some of these conflicts came to the fore, the best example being the Maitatsine conflict which was eventually wiped out in the early 1990s .

A lot of these conflicts and the groups that aid them found more freedom after the return to civilian rule.

One of these groups is Jama’atu Ahlus-Sunnah Lidda’Awati Wal Jihad, which became the Boko Haram sect. This group started in and around Maiduguri in the early part of the last decade. Starting out as a radical group at the Ndimi Mosque in Maiduguri about 2002, they saw society, particularly the government of Mala Kachalla as irredeemably corrupt. So, in the middle of 2002, the group, under its founder, Mohammed Ali, embarked on a hijra to Kanama in Yobe state.

In Islam, a hijra is a journey from the bad world to go and be closer to God. The Prophet undertook one, from Mecca to Medina. Usman dan Fodio also undertook his own hijra, to Gudu, when Yunfa wanted to kill him. This should give us some context.

Back to topic, and this period at Kanama, is probably where they had their first foreign contact. While there, more members joined, some of these new members, the kids of influential Northerners, such as the son of Yobe's governor at the time, Bukar Abba Ibrahim. Bukar Abba Ibrahim is now a senator, and his son's involvement meant that the group was in a typically Nigerian style, more or less immune from punishment.

Towards the end of 2003, the group had a communal clash with the Kanama community over fishing rights which led to police involvement. In the crisis which followed, they defeated the police, which in turn led to the Army getting involved, and the group was defeated, the founder, Mohammed Ali, was killed, and the group "scattered", a few of the survivors, including a chap called Shekau, went north to training camps in the Sahara desert.

The other survivors of the Battle of Kanama returned to Maiduguri and reintegrated into the Ndimi Mosque, where they were now led by Mohammed Yusuf, who started the process of starting a new mosque without molestation. The land on which the new mosque was built was donated by Baba Fugu Mohammed, Mohammed Yusuf's father-in-law. Baba Fugu Mohammed, was an influential, but moderate figure, who while never a full member, was to be murdered by the group. His crime, was attempting to negotiate with former President Obasanjo after things got out of hand.

Between this time (early 2004, and 2009), Boko Haram was largely left alone, and grew as a movement. In that time, they started a farm, provided employment for their members, provided welfare for those members who could not work, gave training to those who could, in short, they provided an alternative to the government of the day, and this very viability attracted more members, and a lot of zakat donations from prominent members of the Northern elite.

The only incident which brought them to prominence was in 2007, when Sheikh Ja'afar Mahmoud Adam was murdered. Ja'afar had started criticising them, and predicted that someday, because of their extremist ideologies, they would clash with the government. It is generally believed that Mohammed Yusuf ordered his murder

For another two years after the Ja'afar assassination, they were left largely alone, growing, and attracting more followers. Then, in February 2009, the government of Ali Modu Sheriff banned riding bikes without the use of helmets. This seemingly innocuous event, is what led to the meltdown.

Five months later in July, a prominent member of Boko Haram died, and a large number of them were on the way to bury him. They were stopped by the police who quizzed them about their lack of helmets as the new law dictated. An argument began, and in the process, shots got fired. People on both sides got injured and things went out of hand. Boko Haram attacked in Bauchi, Borno and Yobe states, killing several policemen. In Maiduguri, they took over town, and controlled it for three days, doing what they pleased, until the army was called in to help. Eventually, the army regained control, and arrested a lot of Boko Haram members, including Mohammed Yusuf.

However, when Mohammed Yusuf was handed over to the police, he died. According to the police, "while trying to escape". Boko Haram on their part, say that he was murdered extra-judicially, in cold blood. To be frank, there is evidence that Mohammed Yusuf's arrest and an eventual trial would have exposed some prominent people. One of the Boko Haram members killed in that time was a former Borno state commissioner, Buji Foi, who was shot in the back by policemen. The video is available online till this day. Asides Yusuf and Foi, a large number of people were also killed in cold blood by the police.

After this, Abubakar Shekau, who had returned to Nigeria in the time being and had become Mohammed Yusuf's right hand man relocated to Northern Cameroon. Shekau decided that there could be no negotiations with such a government, and set about reorganising the group. He adapted the Al-Qaeda model, and broke the group into cells which are largely independent of each other.

This is currently Boko Haram's structure; a cellular structure, and no centralised command, and seemingly no unity of purpose. This "lack of unity" makes them particularly difficult to negotiate with, as you cannot tell who exactly represents the group. When someone attempts to negotiate on behalf of the group, think Baba Fugu Mohammed, he is quickly hunted down and killed. So, as things stand, the extremist elements within Boko Haram are the ones fully in control of the narrative.

What Men Should Know About Women’s Privates

What Men Should Know About Women’s PrivatesThis article is for men and it discusses what they need to know about this all-important female body part.

photo

Exercise

There have been many articles attesting to the joys of regular sêx and its many health benefits. In fact, one article recommended that women should go to bed without knickers in order to air out the vagina during sleep. Men like that, as it sends the ‘right’ signals. It is also nice to perhaps have a late night shower!

A comedian once said that the best adornment to wear for it is ‘specticles.’ And if you are taking it out for exercise, you should ensure it is in pretty good shape and looking fine.

Many men prefer a shaved vagina and I do prescribe it for you. It is important in order to enjoy the act of sex: visually, geographically and maximally as P-Square would say. Further, you should use all your senses when in front of the vagina and do not just be ruled by your ‘brain!’ Be in tune with all the different sensory stimuli from your partner.

Smell

I won’t go into any sordid details, but you need to appreciate the smell of the vagina you are interacting with. This is from the health point of view. The vagina should smell fresh and natural without insulting the nostrils. Odd smells reminiscent of the fish joint or ‘mama put’ bukateria should be frowned upon. Insist on an open discussion and an explanation before further events. Discuss the issue of discharges, even menstrual flow and infection openly with your partner and show you care. Of course, you care about the health and wellbeing of both of you.

Let’s make one important point about cleanliness of the vagina. Douching is washing or cleaning out the vagina with water or other mix¬tures of fluids. It is not recommended and appears to cause more harm than good. The vagina has its own resident bacteria which the normal acidity of the vagina keeps under control. But douching can change this delicate balance. This may make a woman more prone to vaginal infections. Plus, douching can spread existing vaginal infections up into the uterus, fallopian tubes, and ovaries.

Sight

Visual inspection and admiration of the vagina enhances sexual intercourse. It is also of real health benefit. Look for rash, cold sores and blisters which may indicate scabies or even herpes. Be aware of vaginal discharges, including bleeding during sex. Evaluate the discharge or secretions from the vagina for normality.

For example, cervical cancer causes odd, smelly discharges, bleeding and pain during sex. Ask questions about routine assessments by the doctor and encourage your partner to seek help. I think that every household should have their own gynaecologist/obstetrician. Learn to share!

Everyone should be appalled by female genital mutilation (FGM) as still practised in some parts of Nigeria. Should you know of anyone who believes in this criminal act, please kindly report them to the police. FGM spoils the beauty of the vagina and should be abolished forever.

Sound

Some vaginas make noise as if you are on a joke fart pillow. And some others make a sloshing sound due to so much vaginal secretions or perhaps a poor fit. You decide. It could be that you need a penile enlargement or maybe she needs a tailor. I know a good one!

Is sex painful for your partner? All that exercise too much for the vagina to take? It might not be down to your own physical fitness and prowess. Painful sêx can be due to bacterial vaginosis, vaginitis, vaginismus and rough sex. Listen to your partner for sounds of joy and not cries of pain.

Touch

It takes time, practice and an anatomy lesson to appreciate the feel of the vagina and navigate your way to all the hot spots without using Global Positioning Satellite. Most of the vagina is erogenous but a combination of touches and feel allow you to discover what works for your partner.

The G-spot is one of those favourite places that many men look for. It’s one of the wonders of the world and worth revisiting time and time again. Once you find it in the vagina, your woman becomes or can become putty in your hands.  Please don’t ask me where it is!

I Caught My Boyfriend Doing It With My Mum's Friend

This is the saddest experience I've ever hard with my dating experience as an adult. I'm already considering if I should tell this guy that we have dated enough for two years and he should start marriage plans since he has not deemed it fit to propose to me despite the fact that he has seen everything on my body.

But what did I get? The shock of my life. He has been sleeping with my mum's good friend behind my back and I never suspect anything because this woman is kind of very friendly with him and I was happy because I don't want any one who is close to my mum to dislike my further husband. I just don't like too much drama!

Gbe-olabo, it's my friend that said I should send a mail to you, because she can't tell me what to do so no one would blame her tomorrow. I went to Lagos mainland to see her and decided to branch my mum's friend house to greet her. As I entered her sitting room, what did I see? This woman on top my boyfriend...

She even shouted at me that why didn't I knock before coming in as if she doesn't know that the man she had under her was not my boyfriend. She didn't even say anything about my relationship with my boyfriend but asked me to leave her house and make sure I don't enter people's house next time without knocking.

I don't even know how I managed to leave there, my guy could not say anything and since he didn't follow me out of her house am sure he continued doing what he was doing with her. But when he called me latter I didn't pick and he has been sending me messages saying the woman tempted him with money.

Should I forgive this guy? How long will it take me to date another guy and settle down? I'm just confused!

Boko Haram Fight: 100s Killed In Sambisa, 20 Soldiers Missing

No fewer than an estimated 2,000 insurgents were killed in a combined operation by Special Forces and the men of the Air Force on Friday and Saturday in the volatile Sambisa Forest of Borno State, which has become a prominent hideout of the violent Islamic sect, Boko Haram.

But what would have been a victory for the Special Forces was marred by an operational misunderstanding on the ground between the troops and the officers in the Air Force Alpha Jet.

Investigations revealed that 20 soldiers are still missing as a result of the operational misunderstanding...

It was learnt that mid-way into the operation, the Air Force Alpha Jet radioed the ground forces who had advanced in three companies, that they should withdraw because it was running out of bombs.

It was learnt that while the second and the third battalions withdrew, the first company of soldiers did not get the critical operational order. The situation was said to have put the soldiers at a numerical disadvantage in the encounter with the insurgents, Punch reported.

It was gathered that the soldiers fought their way through in desperation until they got to Bama Barracks.

Investigation revealed that a headcount among the soldiers revealed that 20 of them were missing. The military would not declare a soldier dead unless the corpse is recovered.

The soldiers became bitter because they felt they were not given the operational information that could have prevented the ugly occurrence. Investigations further revealed that the angry soldiers became unruly and refused to take further orders from their superiors.

It was gathered that the soldiers, who came from 103 Battalion, Okuname under 81 Division Enugu, only take instructions from their commanding officer. The commanders are still struggling to resolve the ugly episode.

We hope issues like this wont increase bad blood in the soldiers and further give Boko Haram an advantage.

I Can't Date Any Man Who Is Not Good In Bed ––Actress Okoye

If you're looking for bold girls who can say their mind when it comes to bedroom issue, just go to Nollywood in a subtle way and talk to the young babes who are trying to make it in the movie industry. One of them is this cute actress, Crystal Okoye. She said any man who can't perform should not come her way.

Below is what she told a reporter about her desire:
I am not one of those women who would tell you séx doesn’t matter; it matters a lot in a marriage. If a man cannot perform I have no business with him. You have to be a complete man to be with me. I don’t pray to marry a poor man...
But a man who can comfortably take care of me. I love séx, and I am not going to pretend I don’t. I know most girls even fake or'gasm just to please their partners but I am not that kind of girl.

-Guys, please don't go close if you are not strong. lol!

Should Women Forget Their Jobs After Marriage Just To Raise Their Kids Alone?

I heard something on air yesterday. A man on a talk show said the westerners have encouraged African women to get a job at the expense of their family, forgetting we have a culture in Africa, where women are meant to stay at home and bring up their children to be responsible kids in the society. He said and I quote 'when the children are old enough to take care of themselves, you can now go and pursue your career as a woman'.

Sadly a lot of women have emulated the western culture, pursuing their careers and running their homes at the same time, which will leave a lot of things unattended too. You cannot do two things together, you cannot eat your cake and still have it, he said. Women are meant to stay at home and raise their kids and be responsible wives he concluded.

Do you agree with him? Do you think women should face their marriage squarely after getting married to raise their children alone?

Facebook Plans New Means For Global Web Access

Facebook revealed on Thursday that it has discovered new means of providing web access around the world.

 * Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook
According to the world famous social platform, it has a lab working on using drones, satellites and solar-powered planes to provide web access around the world.

“We’ve been working on ways to beam Internet to people from the sky,” Facebook co-founder and chief Mark Zuckerberg said in a post on the leading social network.

“Connecting the whole world will require inventing new technology too,” Zuckerberg said.

“That’s what our Connectivity Lab focuses on, and there’s a lot more exciting work to do here.”

The team at the lab comprises experts in aerospace and communications technology, including former members of the NASA Jet Propulsion Lab and Ames Research Center, according to Facebook.

The lab is looking at varying tactics to achieve its mission. For remote regions or spread-out populations, the team is interested in using satellites orbiting the Earth.

Suburban populations could be given access to Internet service from gear in planes continually circling about 20,000 meters overhead, Facebook’s Yael Maguire said in a YouTube video posted by Internet.org.

The planes would fly above the weather and, powered by the sun, could remain in the sky for months at a time, according to Maguire.

The team is looking at “tying it all together” using lasers to transmit data between satellites, aircraft, or other points.

“We are just at the beginning,” Maguire said. “We have some amazing people on the team and there are some awesome problems to solve.”

Malaysia official: Maybe, just maybe, they're alive

A Malaysian official on Saturday met with relatives of those aboard missing Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 and he told reporters he still had hope that survivors may exist among the 239 people aboard the plane that went missing March 8.

Hishammuddin Hussein, Malaysia's acting transportation minister said, "Even hoping against hope, no matter how remote, of course we are praying and we will continue our search for the possible survivors.
"More than that, I told the families I cannot give them false hope. The best we can do is pray and that we must be sensitive to them that, as long as there is even a remote chance of a survivor, we will pray and do whatever it takes."
Earlier this week, the relatives had been told that all lives were lost.

Two ships searching for debris related to the disappearance of Malaysia Airlines MH370 have retrieved a number items from the search area, the Australian Maritime Safety Authority said Saturday but so far no objects confirmed to be related to MH370 have been recovered.
Meanwhile in Beijing today, some of the relatives of the missing vented their anguish in the streets.
Wen Wancheng, 63 whose only son was among the passengers said, "They're all still alive, my son and everyone on board! The plane is still there too! They're hiding it."
He held aloft a banner that read: "Son, mom and dad's hearts are torn to pieces. Come home soon!"

How tacky! Who goes on a radio show to mention names of famous women he has slept with? Nick Cannon, that's who! But this Kim has been around sha...lol.

So actor/rapper/TV personality/producer Nick Cannon was a guest on Big Boy's Power 106 TV show and when the radio host asked him to list five celebrities he's gone to bed with, Nick didn't hesitate. He started off with his wife, super star singer Mariah Carey, then mentions singers Christina Milian and Nicole Scherzinger, ex-fiancee supermodel Selita Ebanks and reality star Kim Kardashian.

When Big Boy acted surprised and said he didn't know Nick had slept with Kim, Nick replied, "Of course you knew...or you forgot because there have been many since me." Ouch! Not nice, Nick!

Oh and he said he only mentioned the names of famous women people already know he slept with, ..meaning there are many more. He also said the first time he made love to Mariah Carey was on their wedding night. See the video below...
