Morocco has been disqualified from hosting the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations because of the spread of the Ebola virus during the tournament.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed this news and even though they are yet to have a new host they said they already have some countries interested in taking over the hosting rights.
Due to the disqualification by CAF, Morocco losses its automatic qualification as hosts and won’t participate in the tournament.
Morocco had asked the ruling body to suspend the tournament till 2016, but CAF had ordered the North African country to make up its mind before Saturday.
CAF’s executive committe had already started informing countries who are interested to take over the hosting of the tournament.
CAF revealed that they hope the selection will be made fast.
The Ebola Virus has killed over 5000 people in western Africa alone and with concern growing through out other African regions to stop the spread of the virus.
