Woman On 4 Days Of Friends, Fun, Sun & Non-Stop Music Heading For Miami In Ship Jumps Into Sea

A woman “intentionally” threw herself over the side of a cruise ship hosting an electronic dance music festival Thursday night. The victim identified by the US Coast Guard as Kaylyn Rose Sommer, 24, of Charleston, South Carolina ditched the 2015 Mad Decent Boat Party and jumped off the EDM party cruise when it was about 22 miles off the coast of Cuba around 7 p.m.

The chartered cruise on the Norwegian Pearl, which set sail from Miami on Wednesday, was headed to Cozumel, Mexico.

The Coast Guard and an air crew from Air Station Clearwater were still searching for the missing woman till yesterday. A Coast Guard Alligator cutter boat and a C-130 rescue plane had been deployed from Clearwater to look for her.

The cruise, which had scheduled performances from EDM artists like A-Trak, Dillon Francis, Skrillex, and Major Lazer, was en route to Miami as the Coast Guard continued the search for the woman. The ship must have docked in Miami yesterday, Nov. 15.
