Some gunmen suspected to be members of Boko Haram sect have taken over some villages in Gwaram LGA of Jigawa state. According to a reliable source, the terrorists have closed down over 30 primary and secondary schools warning people to desist from western education. A chief in the area yesterday told reporters that Gwaram residents have informed security agencies of the latest development. The source further said that Boko Haram terrorists have taken over the area. They are now recruiting youths at Gwani village of Gwaram paying them N50,000 monthly salary. The new recruits were also given brand new motorcycles. “They have captured villages around the area and even warned the villagers to stop going to western education schools, viewing centres and any other social events,”. “They have taken over the area since around February of this year; residents complied because they threatened to burn their houses if they did not obey their order”. – the source said The source further stated that the terrorists, who number over 1,000 and are armed with sophisticated weapon, are normally transported into Bolmo area in trucks, and have informers among the residents who are reporting to them the presence of any stranger in the area. The top source head also told journalists that the terrorists have arrested many people who declined to comply with their instruction, most of those, according to him, being Kanuri but who also speak Hausa fluently. “Some of them are white in complexion. Soldiers repelled a Boko Haram attack at Kawuri village, Konduga local government Area of Borno state. They killed 31 insurgents. Two soldiers however died. Kawuri is 40 kilometers from Maiduguri, the Borno state capital. The battle with the insurgents took place on Wednesday according to security sources, who said it had brought relief to the people who have been under constant attack from the sect. A security source, who also provided video of the clash said: “They did not know that we were told by some people that they saw them coming and we prepared for them. We killed 31 and some of them ran away with bullet wound.” |

The latest technology in town is from the largest search engine in the world, Google. Google is set to introduce a portableself driving carwith no steering wheels into the market. Google self driving car interior photos The search giant said it will begin testing the car in the next few months. “They won’t have a steering wheel, accelerator pedal, or brake pedal… because they don’t need them. Our software and sensors do all the work,”Google’s Chris Urmson said in a blog post. Urmson further said “If all goes well, we’d like to run a small pilot program here in California in the next couple of years.”“It was inspiring to start with a blank sheet of paper and ask, ‘What should be different about this kind of vehicle?’” . “We’re light on creature comforts, but we’ll have two seats (with seatbelts), a space for passengers’ belongings, buttons to start and stop, and a screen that shows the route — and that’s about it,”Urmson said.
