NFF set to finalize contract extension for Keshi

After receiving the report of a three-man committee, the NFF are set to approve a new contract for Stephen Keshi as Nigeria coach.

Keshi's contract lapsed at the end of the World Cup, and the former Nigerian skipper was not offered an extension.

However, in the wake of the crisis that engulfed the federation soon after, the NFF set up a committee to open discussions with the coach.
That committee, comprising Christopher Green, Felix Anyansi-Agwu and Deji Tinubu, submitted its report on Wednesday. Consequently, the NFF executive committee, which met on Wednesday in Abuja, approved a decision to have Acting President Mike Umeh convene a meeting of the NFF Emergency Committee to approve/finalize details of Keshi’s possible re–engagement within the shortest possible time.

And as part of the reconciliation moves which formed the basis of the withdrawal of the court case against the NFF, the Executive Committee constituted a five-man committee to review the issue of bans on persons handed down to some officials.

The Committee, which was immediately inaugurated by the Acting President, Mike Umeh, is headed by Effiong Johnson and has Shehu Adamu, Ayodeji Tinubu, Dilichukwu Onyedinma and Suleiman Yahaya-Kwande as members, while Christian Emeruwa will serve as Secretary.

That committee is expected to report back to the body within three days.
