If President Goodluck Jonathan want to emerge PDP flag-bearer in 2015 then he has to meet these demands by the powerful governors in his party. Judging from past experiences, failure to do so will be very risky.
The governors have come together and given three conditions before they can back President Jonathan’s yet to be announced re-election bid. The strong conditions from the governors to Jonathan are:
•allowing outgoing governors to choose their successors
•automatic second term tickets for those running first term in office
•automatic senatorial seats for governors aspiring to be in the Senate.
It is a known fact that governors are very powerful in their states and some of them are getting set to dump the PDP and join the APC if their demands are not met. But can the PDP afford to lose more governors?
