Fulani Herdsmen in fresh attacks in Taraba state


According to a breaking news report on Channels TV, suspected Fulani herdsmen attacked Wukari village in Taraba state Thursday morning. Eyewitness reports has it that about 15 people have been killed but police officials say its only 7 that are reported dead. Reports also say several houses have been destroyed.
 
Unconfirmed reports has it that the wife of the Taraba state Governor, Dr. Mrs. Hauwa Danbaba Suntai was caught up in the middle of the fight but has however been rescued from the attack scene.
 
The Police Public Relations officer, ASP Jospeh Kwaji attributed the violence to reprisal attacks by youths in the town, following alleged incessant raids by suspected herdsmen from surrounding villages
