2015 Presidency: Igbos in Diaspora give their support to Buhari

A group, Igbos Diaspora Initiative for Buhari (IDIB), has said it will mobilize all Igbos in the Diaspora to give their support to the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari for the February 14, 2015, presidential election.

The group which membership is drawn from all strata including professionals, traders, career persons, women and youth groups, is led by Mazi David Nonso Ifeanyi Ezedinma, who is a special adviser to Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura of Nasarawa State.

He told Daily Trust in Lafia that the organisation, which is an affiliate of Buhari Support Organisation, was founded with the intent to educate, sensitize and mobilize persons of Igbo decent across the world to ensure the victory of Buhari in February.

“We have the mandate to coordinate all other pro-Buhari Igbo groups within and outside of Nigeria, to the election victory of General Buhari, the APC presidential candidate,” Ezedinma said.

He said the IDIB, with its headquarter in Abuja, is currently inaugurating state chapters and opening offices across the country, the first of which is expected to be in Nasarawa State.

“The IDIB is a body of professionals, career persons and traders, youth and women groups, as well as students with the desire to root for our presidential candidate ahead of the February election. We are a body comprising of prominent Igbo sons and daughters residing outside of their hometowns,” Ezedinma said.
